Didsbury, Withington and Chorlton are mostly internal work for us. The area is dominated by Victorian and Edwardian housing, and the jobs reflect that: ceilings, full re-plasters, and making good after the sort of alterations people make when they’re modernising an older house.

Rendering does come up here, but more often at the back of a property or on an extension than across a whole frontage — much of the brickwork around here deserves to stay visible.

Victorian and Edwardian villas, semis and terraces, a lot of them converted into flats at some point and some since converted back. Original lath and plaster is still common, as are picture rails, deep cornices and ceiling roses that need working around rather than through. Damp from failed pointing or blocked gutters turns up more often than in newer stock.
