Hale Barns, Hale and Bowdon are where we tend to take on our larger projects: whole-house refurbishments where we’re doing the render outside and every ceiling and wall inside, often alongside a builder, over several weeks.

It’s work that suits how we prefer to operate — one property, one team, start to finish, with the time to get the detailing right rather than rushing between three jobs a week.

The housing round here

The housing here is very different to most of our patch. A lot of substantial detached property, much of it post-war and a good deal of it heavily remodelled or rebuilt over the last twenty years. That means larger elevations, more complex rooflines, feature gables, and clients who care about how the details are resolved — the reveals, the sills, the junction between render and brick or timber. It also means a strong appetite for a complete external change rather than a patch-up.

We’re used to working alongside builders, joiners and electricians on longer refurbishment programmes here, and to keeping a site presentable while people are still living in the house next door.
